House Manager – Household & Childcare Specialist

About the role

We are creating a pool of qualified House Managers for future placements with the House Managers Agencies Association (HMAA). The role combines full‑time household oversight with dedicated childcare support for a private residence in Westlands, Nairobi.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily household operations, ensuring cleanliness, order, and maintenance of the home.
• Supervise and coordinate household staff such as cleaners and cooks, monitoring performance and task completion.
• Plan meals, handle grocery shopping, and track inventory of household supplies.
• Arrange service providers, vendors, and maintenance appointments, keeping records of expenses and budgets.
• Provide attentive, nurturing care for children, ensuring safety, emotional well‑being, and developmental support.
• Organise children’s schedules, including school runs, extracurricular activities, playdates, and appointments.
• Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children and maintain tidy play, study, and rest areas.

Required profile

• Proven experience in both household management and professional childcare, with references.
• High integrity, discretion, and reliability.
• Excellent time‑management and multitasking abilities.
• Strong interpersonal communication in English and Kiswahili.
• Basic first‑aid training or knowledge of emergency procedures is an advantage.
• Relevant training or certifications are a plus.
