Human Resource Assistant

About the role

The Human Resource Assistant will provide essential administrative and operational support to the HR department of Homes Universal LTD. Working in a fast‑paced, labour‑intensive real‑estate environment, you will help ensure smooth recruitment, accurate employee records, and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with Kenyan labour regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate interview scheduling, candidate communication, and prepare employment contracts.
• Maintain up‑to‑date employee records in the HRIS and physical files, handling promotions, transfers, and exits.
• Compile attendance, leave, overtime, and payroll inputs; prepare statutory deduction schedules and liaise with finance.
• Draft disciplinary notices, warning letters, and support HR audits to ensure legal compliance.
• Generate HR reports on staffing, attendance, turnover, and assist with policy implementation and HR projects.

Required profile

• Degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
• 4–5 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a multi‑entity or labour‑intensive setting.
• Proven experience with HRIS and payroll processes.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and HR compliance.
