Human Resource Manager

About the role

The Human Resource Manager will lead the development and execution of HR strategies that support Beta Bakers' corporate objectives. Reporting to the Director, you will ensure compliance with labour regulations while fostering a high‑performance culture across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the approved corporate plan.
• Advise on policies and practices to ensure compliance with labour and family‑business regulations.
• Review job descriptions and qualifications to meet staffing needs.
• Maintain accurate muster rolls and manage departmental leave rosters.
• Prepare and monitor the HR budget, addressing any variances.
• Design and enforce a performance appraisal policy and procedures.
• Coordinate training, talent development, and recruitment processes, including background checks.
• Stay updated on industry trends, union matters, and legal issues affecting the business.
• Produce periodic HR progress reports and ensure confidentiality of company information.
• Oversee payroll preparation for all staff and statutory obligations.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 month of relevant HR experience.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour, health and safety regulations.
• Ability to develop clear HR goals and adjust priorities as needed.
• Excellent communication skills with senior management.
• Proven ability to reduce employee attrition and disciplinary cases.
