Human Resource Manager (Manufacturing & Operations)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to lead all administrative and operational HR functions in a fast‑paced manufacturing and warehousing environment. The role ensures compliance with Kenyan labour legislation, smooth payroll and compensation processes, and strong employee relations across factory and office staff.

Key responsibilities

• Own and validate payroll processes, compensation structuring, and overtime control.
• Develop, enforce and update HR policies, SOPs, employee handbook and disciplinary procedures.
• Manage labour cost monitoring and alignment with production output.
• Handle union engagement, collective bargaining agreements and mitigate strike risk.
• Implement performance management systems, appraisal cycles and performance improvement plans.
• Conduct training needs assessments, oversee mandatory factory training and develop supervisors.
• Coordinate health, safety and EHS compliance with operations, including incident reporting.
• Maintain HR information systems, ensure data accuracy and provide reporting for decision support.
• Oversee work permit and immigration compliance for foreign workforce.
• Lead structured off‑boarding, knowledge transfer and legal risk mitigation during terminations.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years (60 months) of HR experience in a manufacturing or similar shift‑based environment.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour law, NHIF/NSSF regulations and CBA administration.
• Proven ability to manage payroll, compensation and labour cost control.
• Experience handling employee relations, unions and dispute resolution.
• Demonstrated track record in performance management and training program delivery.
• Familiarity with health, safety and EHS coordination.
• Excellent analytical and documentation skills.
