Human Resource Manager – Nairobi

About the role

The university is seeking an experienced Human Resource Manager to lead HR initiatives across its campuses in Nairobi. You will partner with senior leadership to shape people strategies, ensure compliance, and foster a positive work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide HR expertise and guidance to departments, schools, and projects on recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and talent development.
• Manage HR operations including recruitment, payroll, benefits administration, and employee data management.
• Design and implement employee engagement, motivation, and retention initiatives in collaboration with the Director of Human Resources.
• Act as the primary point of contact for employee‑relations issues, offering mediation, conflict resolution, and investigations.
• Ensure compliance with university policies, Kenyan labor laws, and occupational health and safety regulations.
• Communicate HR updates through email, intranet, and meetings, and support special projects as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Membership in the Institute of Human Resource Management, CHRP(K).
• Minimum five years of progressive HR experience, preferably in an academic setting.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality and high integrity.
