Human Resource Officer

About the role

The Human Resource Officer will support Pedigree Ltd’s manufacturing operations by ensuring an engaged, productive and compliant workforce. Working on the factory floor, the officer will handle day‑to‑day HR activities, employee relations and recruitment for shift‑based production teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily HR operations, maintain accurate employee records, and oversee the full employee lifecycle from recruitment to exit.
• Coordinate recruitment and workforce planning for production, technical, supervisory and administrative roles, including sourcing, interviewing and onboarding.
• Act as first point of contact for employee grievances, conduct investigations, support disciplinary processes and advise managers on industrial relations matters.
• Monitor attendance, punctuality and leave utilisation, analyse absenteeism trends and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare regular HR reports, workforce statistics and ensure compliance with company policies and employment legislation.

Required profile

• Mid‑level HR professional with at least five years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing or shift‑based environment.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour law, employee relations and HR best practices.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain accurate records.
• Excellent communication skills and the capacity to work closely with production managers and union representatives.
