About the role
The Human Resources & Administration Officer will lead the day‑to‑day management of HR and office administration functions for a leading women’s legal federation in Kenya. The role ensures smooth employee lifecycle processes, compliance with Kenyan labour law, and a supportive workplace environment.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate end‑to‑end recruitment, selection, onboarding and staff induction.
- Maintain confidential personnel records and HR information systems.
- Administer contracts, leave, probation, performance appraisals and employee separations.
- Manage staff learning, development initiatives and training records.
- Oversee employee benefits, medical insurance and payroll inputs.
- Provide guidance on HR policies, disciplinary and grievance procedures.
- Ensure compliance with statutory employment obligations.
- Supervise office maintenance, utilities, security, cleaning services and supplies.
- Coordinate travel, accommodation and logistical arrangements for staff.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration (HR option), Commerce (HR option) or related field.
- CHRP‑K certification and valid IHRM membership.
- At least three years of progressive HR and administration experience, preferably in NGOs or the non‑profit sector.
Required skills
- Proficiency with HR information systems (HRIS).
- Payroll coordination and processing.
