Human Resources Supervisor

About the role

The Human Resources Supervisor will be the primary HR partner for a busy hotel, ensuring that people practices align with Hyatt standards, Kenyan employment law, and internal policies. You will act as a trusted, visible presence for staff, listening to concerns and resolving issues fairly while maintaining confidentiality.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day HR support and guidance to colleagues and leaders across the hotel.
• Manage employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary processes, grievances, and other issues in line with company policy and Kenyan legislation.
• Build and maintain relationships with government agencies and regulatory bodies to ensure timely statutory compliance.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, transfers, promotions, exits and other lifecycle processes.
• Maintain accurate, confidential personnel records and HR documentation.
• Monitor contracts, probation periods, leave, attendance, and disciplinary records.
• Partner with operational leaders to address people‑related challenges and improve team performance.
• Participate in colleague communication initiatives, engagement activities, and recognition programs.
• Assist with HR reporting, audits, and compliance requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and the overall employee experience.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an HR Supervisor in the hotel industry.
• Strong understanding of hotel operations and the 24/7 hospitality environment.
• Proven ability to handle employee relations, disciplinary matters, grievances, and confidential issues.
• In‑depth knowledge of Kenyan employment legislation and HR compliance.
• Experience working with government agencies and regulatory authorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• High level of discretion, organisational ability, and attention to detail.
