Import-Export Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Import‑Export Specialist to join our Nairobi team. The role focuses on managing documentation, customs compliance and tariff classification for oil‑and‑gas shipments, ensuring smooth cross‑border operations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify import and export documentation for all incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Track documentation accuracy and ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
• Update import/export systems and maintain proper filing and retention of customs records.
• Liaise daily with customs authorities and other local agencies to resolve operational issues.
• Apply correct duty tariff codes and support regulatory self‑audits.
• Provide customs knowledge training to local staff and support continuous compliance initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement or Business Administration.
• 3‑5 years of relevant experience, preferably within the oil & gas sector.
• Strong understanding of logistics rules, regulations and processes.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal abilities.
• Analytical thinking, problem‑solving and resilience in a fast‑paced environment.
