Innovation Gyms Manager - Lead Facilitator

About the role

The Innovation Gyms Manager – Lead Facilitator will head the operation of both a permanent Innovation Lab in Nairobi and a mobile Innovation Van. Reporting to project leadership, you will ensure high‑quality, inclusive STEAM learning experiences that align with Kenya’s Competency‑Based Curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily management of the fixed and mobile Innovation Gyms, guaranteeing functionality, safety, and accessibility for all participants, including persons with disabilities.
• Design, plan, and deliver hands‑on workshops in digital fabrication, robotics, coding, and other STEAM subjects.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate facilitators and support staff to maintain high instructional standards.
• Coordinate training‑of‑trainers sessions and assist school tutors in integrating lab‑based activities into their curricula.
• Ensure all lab activities align with project educational objectives and the national CBC framework.
• Manage equipment inventories, schedule maintenance, and troubleshoot technical issues on‑site and in mobile contexts.
• Support the integration of e‑learning platforms and digital resources into the Innovation Gyms.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in managing STEAM or technology‑focused learning spaces.
• Strong pedagogical background with the ability to translate technical concepts into inclusive classroom activities.
• Experience supervising staff and delivering training‑of‑trainers programmes.
• Commitment to inclusion, safety, and sustainability in educational settings.
