Insurance Unit Manager

About the role

The Insurance Unit Manager will lead a team of financial advisors and insurance sales agents, driving revenue growth and ensuring high standards of client service. Based in Nairobi, you will be responsible for building a high‑performing sales culture while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and supervise a team of insurance sales professionals, setting clear performance targets.
• Recruit, onboard and retain qualified advisors, providing ongoing training on products, sales techniques and compliance.
• Develop and execute sales strategies to increase market share and achieve unit revenue goals.
• Monitor team performance metrics, prepare regular sales reports and use data‑driven insights to improve productivity.
• Support advisors in closing complex or high‑value deals and nurture strong client relationships.
• Ensure all activities comply with insurance regulations, ethical standards and company policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in insurance sales or business development.
• Proven track record of recruiting, managing and training financial advisors.
• Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and lead high‑performing teams.
• Strong leadership, communication and coaching skills.
• Valid regulatory licenses (IRA or ECOP) preferred.
