Inventory Officer

About the role

The Inventory Officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate stock records and ensuring smooth flow of raw materials and finished goods across our warehouse and collection centres. This full‑time position supports the supply chain function of a fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) company operating in Kenya.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular and precise stock takes, reconcile discrepancies and update inventory records.
• Manage storage of packaging materials and finished goods to optimise space and accessibility.
• Oversee raw‑material inventory at multiple collection centres, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
• Supervise warehouse assistants and enforce inventory handling procedures.
• Maintain up‑to‑date bin cards and documentation for all inventory movements.
• Communicate damaged or obsolete stock to the inventory manager for timely action.
• Review and adjust reorder levels for packaging materials and production inputs.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.
• Analyse inventory data and generate regular reports to support decision‑making.

Required profile

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Accounting or CPA finalist.
• Proven experience in inventory management or a related accounting role.
• Ability to use ERP systems and MS Office applications, especially Excel.
• Strong understanding of inventory management systems and procedures.
• Excellent organisational, analytical and decision‑making abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership and team‑management skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
