Junior Business Analyst

About the role

Blue Oak Consulting is seeking a Junior Business Analyst to support its work with an international development partner. You will join a small, principal‑led, fully remote team and help examine the financial foundations of complex projects, ensuring that capital allocation and commercial assumptions are sound.

Key responsibilities

• Review financial statements and project budgets to spot inconsistencies.
• Build and maintain financial models that test pricing and volume sensitivities.
• Support analysis of capital allocation for the international development sector.
• Extract and organise data from multiple sources into clear structures.
• Research market benchmarks to validate internal projections.
• Write concise summaries highlighting potential financial risks.
• Assist principals during execution by tracking performance against the original economic case.
• Clean large datasets to ensure analytical accuracy.
• Participate in internal discussions on new investment proposals.

Required profile

• University degree in finance, economics, accounting or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment.
• Comfort with messy or incomplete data.

Required skills

• Proficiency with spreadsheet tools.
