About the role

The Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club is seeking a motivated Commis‑1 Chef to join its culinary team. This junior position supports daily kitchen operations and offers hands‑on learning under senior chefs in a luxury hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and cooking menu sections such as starters, salads, and side dishes.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
• Support senior chefs with mise en place, ingredient preparation, and plating.
• Help with inventory checks and stock rotation.
• Follow recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency.
