Knowledge Management & Learning (KML) Consultant

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Knowledge Management & Learning (KML) Consultant to strengthen its capacity to capture, retain, and share institutional knowledge across its Kenya programmes. The consultant will work closely with IRC staff and the Impact Documentation task force to embed evidence‑informed learning into daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and facilitate three integrated write‑shops in Nairobi, Turkana, and Garissa to train staff on impact documentation and evidence generation.
• Support the creation of a suite of KML products, ensuring each product aligns with IRC’s outcomes and evidence framework.
• Lead post‑write‑shop reviews, consolidate findings, and finalize documentation that clearly distinguishes process, output/reach, and outcome/contribution claims.
• Collaborate with technical coordinators, county area coordinators, and METAL to ensure knowledge products are relevant and actionable.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in knowledge management, learning, or impact documentation within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong facilitation and training skills, with the ability to guide diverse teams through write‑shop processes.
• Excellent analytical and synthesis abilities to translate complex programme data into clear, evidence‑based narratives.
