L2 Support Engineer (Database) – MongoDB & Elasticsearch

About the role
The L2 Support Engineer will provide advanced database and search engine support, focusing on MongoDB and Elasticsearch environments. This 12‑month contract role is based in Kenya and may be extended.
Required profile
- 5 to 7 years of experience in production support for database and search technologies.
- Hands‑on experience with MongoDB administration, including replication, sharding, backup and recovery.
- Strong background in Elasticsearch administration, clustering, index management and query optimization.
Required skills
- MongoDB Administration
- Elasticsearch Administration
- Linux/Unix system administration
- Shell scripting or Python
- Automation tools
- Monitoring tools such as Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog
- REST APIs and JSON
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) – preferred
- Database performance tuning, capacity planning, HA/DR concepts
