Lead Central Planning and Control - GIS

About the role

This position is responsible for ensuring that battery swapping stations and associated energy infrastructure are strategically deployed across Nairobi to meet demand while controlling asset lifecycle and utilization. The role blends high‑level network analytics with cross‑functional team leadership to deliver efficient service.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the strategic layout of swapping stations and energy infrastructure to maximise geographic coverage and customer uptime.
• Oversee the full lifecycle of batteries and swapping assets, driving high utilization rates and minimising downtime.
• Conduct deep‑dive demand studies and use data‑driven insights to forecast energy requirements across the network.
• Manage a small team and implement monitoring frameworks that track asset movement, health and rotation.
• Identify bottlenecks in the energy distribution chain and launch lean initiatives to improve network efficiency.
• Partner with local operations and manufacturing teams to align network growth with vehicle deployment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in network planning, asset control or central planning within a fast‑paced environment.
• Prior program‑management experience in a startup handling physical assets or complex logistics.
• Experience working in structured, process‑compliant and safety‑focused settings.
• Bachelor’s degree (or master’s) in urban/traffic planning or equivalent; MBA is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in GIS (Geographic Information Systems).
• Expertise with network optimisation software.
• Strong financial analysis capability to model ROI of infrastructure deployment.
