About the role
The Lead, Pandemic Sciences will drive the implementation of the Foundation’s Health Collaboratives, focusing on the Pandemic Sciences Collaborative and the Public Health & Primary Health Care Collaborative across Africa. Reporting to the Director of Higher Education, Health Collaboratives, this position will build and steward partnerships that place youth at the centre of health programming.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver partnership models for the Pandemic Sciences Collaborative, co‑creating proposals with prospective partners.
- Advise partners on implementation, track progress, and ensure high‑quality delivery across the portfolio.
- Organise and facilitate monthly or quarterly partner meetings, as well as face‑to‑face and virtual convenings.
- Capture data, synthesize learnings, and report insights to inform program adaptations.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, supporting safeguarding of all participants.
- Translate the Foundation’s Health Workforce Initiatives strategy into operational plans, lead day‑to‑day implementation, and provide technical expertise on workforce models and retention.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a health‑related field, public policy, international development, social sciences or similar.
- Master’s degree in a health‑related field is an asset.
- Minimum ten years of relevant experience in higher‑education engagement, civil society, government or private‑sector partnerships, especially with youth.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in fast‑paced, fluid environments.
- Experience designing and delivering health, science or leadership programmes for young people in Africa and familiarity with global grant‑making.
