Light Vehicle Mechanic

About the role

Intex Construction Limited is seeking a qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic to join its workshop team in Westlands, Nairobi. The role is a fixed‑term, full‑time position focused on diagnosing, repairing and maintaining the company’s light vehicle fleet while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues on light vehicles.
• Perform repairs and scheduled maintenance in line with company standards.
• Maintain workshop tools and equipment in good working order.
• Prepare parts requisition slips and complete work‑done reports.
• Report abnormalities to the plant foreman and progress to the site agent.
• Follow all QSHE policies, procedures and safety instructions.
• Record work performed and assist with any additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Full Technician Certificate or Diploma in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering.
• Passed Occupational Trade Test I.
• Minimum 5 years hands‑on experience with similar vehicles.
• Age 25 years or older.
• Valid driving licence for classes B, C, D, E.
• Defensive Driving Certificate and First‑Aid certification.
• Computer literacy.
• Good knowledge of safety procedures and construction regulations.
