Machine Operator

About the role

Puratos is looking for a Machine Operator to join its Nairobi production facility. The role focuses on meeting daily production targets, maintaining product quality, and ensuring a safe working environment in line with company and group guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Follow established operating procedures to perform production tasks safely and efficiently.
• Communicate routine information, observations, and issues to team members and supervisors.
• Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements and company policies.
• Complete mandatory safety training and participate in safety initiatives.
• Conduct last‑minute risk assessments before starting work.
• Ensure products and work practices meet quality and food‑safety standards.
• Assist with start‑up, conversion, and monitoring of the assigned production area.
• Escalate technical issues according to the agreed escalation flow and support technicians during interventions.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic work environment and adhere to cost and productivity instructions.

Required profile

• High School Certificate (KCSE) or equivalent.
• Ability to follow short instructions and routine procedures.
• Ownership of personal learning and development.
• Commitment to HSE compliance, food‑safety hygiene, and quality standards.
• Willingness to act as a Puratos ambassador within the team.
