Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor will lead the hospital’s engineering and facilities team to ensure reliable operation of all building services. Reporting to senior management, you will coordinate preventive and corrective work, manage contractors, and uphold safety and regulatory standards across the campus.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, assign, and evaluate daily maintenance activities, ensuring timely completion of preventive and corrective tasks.
• Oversee utilities including electrical distribution, backup generators, solar and UPS systems, water supply, boreholes, treatment, hot water, boilers, medical air compressors, vacuum, medical gas, HVAC, ventilation, fire detection/suppression, lifts, and drainage.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules, maintain accurate records, and drive corrective actions for recurring failures.
• Supervise technicians and artisans, conduct toolbox meetings, monitor productivity, and mentor junior staff.
• Coordinate outsourced services, verify contractor work quality, and ensure compliance with hospital safety policies.
• Ensure adherence to OSHA, fire safety, environmental, energy management, IPC, and JCIA facility standards; participate in inspections and incident investigations.
• Support renovation and infrastructure projects by monitoring contractor performance and providing technical input.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of maintenance operations experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in a hospital or healthcare environment is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and external contractors.
