Maintenance Technician – Dairy Processing Equipment

About the role

The Maintenance Technician will ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and reliability of dairy processing machinery at Chuka University. This role focuses on both preventive and corrective maintenance to support continuous production and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of plant machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Undertake routine servicing and calibration of processing equipment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and prepare reports.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
• Recommend measures to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
• Perform any other duties lawfully assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification recognized in Kenya.
• At least three (3) years of relevant experience in a similar role within a dairy or food processing environment.
• Proficiency in computer applications for maintenance reporting.
