Management Trainee – Mechanical Engineering

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Management Trainee in Mechanical Engineering to join our busy manufacturing plant in Nairobi. The role offers hands‑on exposure to production, maintenance and engineering projects, providing a solid foundation for a career in the manufacturing sector.

Key responsibilities

• Assist daily production and engineering operations, supporting both preventive and corrective maintenance of plant machinery.
• Troubleshoot mechanical faults and identify process inefficiencies.
• Monitor machine performance and propose improvements for reliability and efficiency.
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance records and operational documentation.
• Collaborate with production, quality and maintenance teams to meet operational targets.
• Participate in health, safety and environmental compliance initiatives.
• Support continuous‑improvement and cost‑reduction projects.
• Contribute to engineering projects and equipment installations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from a recognized university.
• Recent graduate or candidate awaiting graduation clearance.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, maintenance systems and engineering principles.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism and safety awareness.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and adapt in a fast‑paced environment.
