Managing Director – Events & Experiential Marketing

About the role

The Managing Director will lead Emerge Egress Consulting’s events and experiential marketing division, shaping strategy, driving growth and ensuring operational excellence. Reporting to the board, the role combines high‑level strategic thinking with hands‑on execution to deliver outstanding client experiences across Nairobi and beyond.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement business strategies that increase revenue, profitability and market share.
• Oversee the full event lifecycle from concept and planning through execution and post‑event analysis.
• Identify new business opportunities, partnerships and innovative service offerings.
• Manage supplier, venue and vendor relationships to ensure quality and cost‑effectiveness.
• Lead client acquisition, retention and high‑value negotiations.
• Guide financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance monitoring.
• Foster a high‑performance culture through talent acquisition, development and succession planning.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in events, experiential marketing, hospitality or related creative industries.
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high‑performing teams.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of revenue growth.
• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Proven capability to translate creative concepts into profitable solutions.
