Managing Director, Services

About the role

This senior leadership position will shape how governments adopt AI, automate public services and drive digital transformation through OpenFn’s platform. You will own the impact and financial sustainability of the Services portfolio, guiding a transition to a subscription‑centred delivery model.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Services leadership team, including hiring, performance management and career development.
• Own the delivery‑side financial accountability for the Services portfolio, translating booked revenue into profitable execution and monitoring gross margin, operating costs and SLA performance.
• Partner with the Growth team during pre‑sale to accurately scope engagements, size Expert Days allocations and structure pricing that protects target margins.
• Design, validate and operationalise OpenFn’s shift to a subscription‑centred delivery model, working with the Global Strategy Team to adapt enterprise‑software recurring‑revenue practices to LMIC markets.
• Serve as the senior technical and delivery voice in deal negotiations and as a trusted advisor to government ministries, NGOs and implementation partners on digital transformation and AI adoption.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading senior consulting or services teams in a technology‑focused environment.
• Strong track record of delivering large‑scale government or NGO implementations and managing subscription‑based service models.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with product, growth and engineering leaders to align delivery strategy with product roadmap.
• Excellent communication skills for high‑stakes client conversations, escalations and strategic account relationships.
