About the role

OpenFn is seeking a Managing Director, Services to lead its Services organization. This senior role will shape the delivery of public‑service automation and AI orchestration projects for governments and NGOs across Africa and Europe, driving both impact and financial sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Services leadership team, overseeing hiring, performance management, and career development.
• Maintain operating rhythms (OKRs, reviews, portfolio check‑ins) to ensure delivery quality and profitability.
• Partner with the Growth team to accurately scope engagements, size Expert Days, and structure pricing that protects margins.
• Serve as the senior technical voice in deal negotiations, providing sign‑off on scope, timeline, and resourcing.
• Advise government ministries and NGOs on digital transformation and AI adoption strategy beyond OpenFn implementation.
• Own delivery‑side financial accountability, monitoring gross margin, operating costs, and SLA performance.
• Design and operationalize the transition to a subscription‑based delivery model, collaborating with product, growth, and implementation teams.
