Marina Manager (US Navy Program)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Marina Manager to oversee operations for a unique U.S. Navy program located on Diego Garcia. The role combines facility management, safety oversight, and customer service to ensure seamless marina activities in an austere environment.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate all marina operations, including equipment rentals, recreational boating, and facility management.
• Serve as instructor/trainer for small‑craft handling (sail and power) and act as a basic sailing instructor.
• Maintain compliance with safety standards and ensure staff and patrons follow safety protocols.
• Develop and implement boating‑safety programs to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
• Monitor maintenance, inspections, and readiness of marina equipment, small craft, and facilities.
• Organize and supervise basic and advanced training for patrons and marina staff.
• Conduct emergency response activities and be prepared to address contingencies within one hour of notification.
• Provide excellent customer service, handling inquiries and resolving concerns promptly.
• Prepare reports and maintain documentation for inventory, activity logs, and compliance records.
• Supervise marina staff, providing leadership, training, and development.

Required profile

• Minimum five (5) years of experience as a marina supervisor, preferably within U.S. Navy MWR programs.
• Certification or ability to obtain certification as an instructor/trainer in small‑craft handling and as a basic sailing instructor.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certified.
• Strong customer service and communication abilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent; higher education in a relevant field is desirable.
• Availability during regular working hours and ability to respond on‑site within one hour for emergencies.
• Valid passport with at least one year of validity at hire and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
