Market Intelligence Expert

About the role

We are looking for a Market Intelligence Expert to drive strategic decision‑making for the East African residential solar market. You will turn raw market data into actionable insights, helping our leadership stay ahead of competitors in a fast‑growing off‑grid solar sector.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain a competitive intelligence database covering key players, product portfolios, pricing, distribution models, PAYG offerings, marketing campaigns, partnerships, hiring trends, funding activities, and organizational changes.
• Design and execute quantitative and qualitative market research studies, including household surveys, focus groups, distributor/installer interviews, and retail audits across urban, peri‑urban, and rural areas.
• Segment the addressable market by income level, energy access status, geography, and usage patterns; maintain a consumer insight repository with buyer personas and journey maps.
• Develop and continuously refine market sizing models (TAM, SAM) and produce quarterly forecasts, tracking electrification rates, solar adoption trends, PAYG penetration, mobile‑money integration, and macro‑economic factors.

Required profile

• Entry‑level position with up to 36 months (3 years) of experience in market research, competitive intelligence, or related fields.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to synthesize large data sets into clear strategic recommendations.
