About the role

This short‑term contract focuses on gathering first‑hand market intelligence across Nairobi’s retail, wholesale and import channels. You will work independently to identify product trends and potential business customers, providing actionable insights for the client’s growth strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Visit malls, retail outlets, hospitality boutiques, corporate/promotional printers, wholesalers and importers to record available products and market conditions.
• Conduct outbound phone calls and LinkedIn outreach to discover prospective business customers.
• Identify and profile potential wholesale buyers in hospitality, corporate/promotional, retail, institutional and e‑commerce sectors.
• Build and maintain a verified database of prospects with accurate contact information.
• Compile clear findings and market insights in written reports; no direct sales closing is required.

Required profile

• Based in Nairobi with reliable transportation.
• Fluent in English and conversational Kiswahili.
• Comfortable conducting physical store visits and outbound outreach.
• Own a smartphone capable of geotagging.
• Good research, communication and reporting abilities; able to work independently and meet deadlines.
