Market Research & Business Intelligence Manager

About the role

BURN Manufacturing is looking for a Market Research & Business Intelligence Manager to lead its research function and build a Business Intelligence unit. The role will partner with Sales, Marketing, R&D, After‑Sales and Expansion leaders to turn data into actionable insights that drive growth across East Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop the Market Research team, fostering professional growth and improving methodologies.
• Design, schedule and oversee market research projects, including longitudinal studies, field work and reporting.
• Research and analyse socioeconomic, sales and competitor data to support commercial decision‑making.
• Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly sales performance reports and present findings to senior leadership.
• Define and implement processes and systems that increase efficiency in commercial departments.
• Build and maintain sales tools such as a Business Intelligence platform and CRM, ensuring integration with ERP and other internal systems.
• Monitor and report on sales forecasts, pipeline, channel growth, conversion rates and market share against budget.

Required profile

• Proven ability in data analysis and a solid understanding of commercial business.
• Strategic thinker with experience developing business plans or strategies.
• Track record of implementing processes and systems in a commercial environment.
• Prior management experience, preferably leading research or BI teams.
• Degree in statistics, economics, engineering or related field; MBA or recent graduate with sales/marketing experience is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for data manipulation and reporting.
• PowerPoint for creating executive presentations.
• Proficiency with CRM systems and general MS Office suite.
