Marketing Internship – Remote or Nairobi

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme is seeking a Marketing Intern to support the Global Funds Mitigation and Transparency Section. This remote‑friendly role offers practical experience in strategic marketing for a leading global environmental organization.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design and execution of marketing campaigns across digital and traditional channels.
• Create marketing materials such as presentations, flyers, infographics, and social‑media content.
• Manage social‑media platforms, develop content, engage audiences, and conduct social listening.
• Research target audiences, market trends, and stakeholder needs to inform strategies.
• Translate complex technical information into clear, engaging messages.
• Assist in promoting products and initiatives to partner countries, governments, and public‑sector stakeholders.
• Help plan and deliver marketing activities for workshops, conferences, launches, and events.
• Use creative tools (Canva, Adobe Suite, CorelDRAW) to develop assets and prepare briefs, reports, and presentations.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or completed a bachelor’s, master’s or Ph.D. programme in marketing, business, digital media, economics, environmental science or a related field.
• Demonstrated coursework or experience in digital or corporate marketing and public relations.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; French is an asset.
• Ability to provide official academic certificates when requested.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Suite, CorelDRAW.
• Experience using MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Teams.
• Familiarity with social‑listening tools such as Hootsuite, Meltwater or Brandwatch.
• Basic knowledge of digital marketing and social‑media management.
