Mechanical Procurement Engineer

About the role

Master Power Systems Limited is looking for a technically strong Mechanical Procurement Engineer to support MEP projects across Kenya, Uganda and the wider East African region. The role involves interpreting mechanical drawings, verifying BOQs, evaluating plumbing, firefighting and HVAC systems, and managing the end‑to‑end procurement process.

Key responsibilities

• Review mechanical, plumbing, drainage, firefighting and HVAC drawings and verify quantities against BOQs.
• Validate equipment schedules for pumps, valves, AHUs, FCUs and related components.
• Prepare technical comparison sheets and evaluate supplier compliance with specifications.
• Source local and international suppliers, issue RFQs, negotiate pricing, terms and warranties, and issue Local Purchase Orders.
• Prepare material cost estimates for tenders, variations and value‑engineering proposals, and maintain pricing trackers.
• Identify and recommend cost‑effective, technically compliant alternatives.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in Mechanical/Plumbing procurement or estimation within MEP/contracting.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
