Mechanical Specialist – Snacking Production

About the role

As a Mechanical Specialist at Mars, you will lead the execution of maintenance programmes for site equipment and facilities supporting our snacking production line. You will ensure high reliability and performance of plant assets while upholding strict quality, food safety, health and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform expert troubleshooting and diagnosis on gear and power transmissions, drives, motors, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Respond swiftly to line breakdowns to minimise production disruption.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop long‑term process improvements and condition‑based maintenance plans.
• Implement and continuously review preventive and autonomous maintenance systems.
• Supervise contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with safety and quality requirements.
• Coach and mentor associates to build internal maintenance capability.
• Manage mechanical spare‑parts inventory in line with the maintenance strategy.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible day and night shifts.
• Proactive attitude with strong problem‑solving abilities.
