Mining Engineer – Permanent Position

About the role

The Mining Engineer will be responsible for preparing and implementing mine plans, designs, scheduling, waste‑rock management and land‑reclamation strategies. The role also includes managing run‑of‑mine stockpiles, preparing mineral‑rights applications, supervising mineral‑processing plant installations and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and health regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare applications for and periodic performance reports of mineral rights.
• Develop and implement detailed mine plans.
• Provide reports and instructions for geotechnical operations.
• Prepare and execute mine scheduling.
• Design and manage waste‑rock management and land‑reclamation plans.
• Oversee management of run‑of‑mine stockpiles.
• Implement mine safety, environmental and health regulations in all mining activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mining, mineral processing, extractive metallurgy or civil engineering.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and report‑writing abilities.
• Interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Mentoring, coaching and leadership capabilities.

What we offer

• Basic salary range Ksh 67,438 – 108,886 per annum.
• House allowance of Ksh 10,000.
• Commuter leave allowance of Ksh 4,000.
