New Business Development Intern – Regional Programme

About the role

The New Business Development Intern will support Save the Children’s East and Southern Africa Regional and Multi‑Country Programmes (RMCP). Working from the Kenya Country Office, the intern will help identify and track funding opportunities, assist with proposal development and contribute to knowledge management activities.

Key responsibilities

• Research and compile intelligence on potential institutional donors, regional corporates and non‑traditional funding sources.
• Maintain a calendar of upcoming funding opportunities and share intel with the Head of RMCP.
• Manage knowledge‑sharing platforms such as SharePoint to ensure easy access to files and data for the RMCP team.
• Assist in drafting concept notes, technical briefs, communication materials and other donor‑engagement collateral.
• Support coordination of multi‑country proposal processes, including kick‑off meetings, action‑point tracking and after‑action reviews.
• Analyse regional pipeline and portfolio reports to identify trends affecting success rates.

Required profile

• Recently completed or currently studying a degree in business management, project management, international relations, international development or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in international development, fundraising or business development within an NGO/INGO environment is highly desired.
• Strong analytical, information‑management and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and handle a challenging workload with minimal supervision.
