About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Nurse to join our Westlands medical centre in Nairobi. The role involves delivering high‑quality clinical care, focusing on maternal‑child health and family planning services within a busy healthcare facility.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct initial patient assessments, triage, and provide nursing procedures including MCH/FP services.
• Administer IV and IM medications following best practice guidelines.
• Maintain a well‑stocked centre with clean, sterile supplies and equipment for routine and emergency cases.
• Champion Infection Prevention and Control by applying Penda Health’s IPC protocols.
• Record patient data accurately in real‑time using Penda’s electronic medical record system.
• Complete Ministry of Health reporting requirements on time.
• Deliver patient education and ensure an excellent patient experience.
• Participate in continuous professional development and support process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Diploma in Nursing (KRCHN) with a valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• Valid BLS certification (mandatory) and ACLS certification (advantage).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a busy healthcare facility, preferably with MCH/FP exposure.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with patients.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic health records and digital health tools.
• Competence in BLS and, where applicable, ACLS.
• Skilled in IV and IM medication administration.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control protocols.
