Operations Intern – Energy Network

About the role

Zeno is looking for an Operations Intern to keep the commercial and administrative backbone of its battery‑swap and fast‑charging network running smoothly. The role involves managing lease contracts, utility payments and related documentation across the network, ensuring nothing is late, missing or incorrect.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the contract management system with accurate, up‑to‑date records and consistent naming standards.
• Track critical dates such as lease renewals, notice periods, rent escalations and expiry dates, providing early warnings to the team.
• Collect, chase and file executed leases and site agreements so any contract can be retrieved instantly.
• Process recurring lease obligations – monthly rent invoices, escalations, one‑off payments and insurance certificates – ensuring they are raised, paid and recorded on time.
• Manage utility accounts with Kenya Power, verify tariffs, reconcile bills and flag anomalies.
• Act as the day‑to‑day point of contact for landlords and site partners, escalating disputes to the Operations team when needed.

Required profile

• Extremely organized with the ability to handle many documents, deadlines and payment cycles without errors.
• Exceptional attention to detail, catching mismatched invoices, wrong tariffs or missing signatures.
• Comfortable with repetitive, detail‑heavy administrative work and maintaining accuracy over large data sets.
• Process‑focused and methodical, eager to follow and improve clear procedures.
• Numerate and confident when checking invoices, rates and payment calculations.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a diploma or degree in any field; business, finance, real‑estate or law backgrounds are a plus.
