Operations Manager

About the role

We are seeking an Operations Manager to oversee and optimise day‑to‑day operations within our investment banking and financial services business. The role ensures efficient service delivery, strong internal controls and regulatory compliance while providing a development pathway to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Design and lead operating processes for client onboarding, transaction capture, trade support, settlement, custody coordination and records management.
• Establish daily controls, transaction and cash reconciliations, incident logs and escalation procedures.
• Protect client assets and information through robust operational controls.
• Manage relationships and service standards with custodians, settlement agents, banks, technology providers and other key vendors.
• Lead selection and implementation of operating systems, dashboards, data controls and business continuity arrangements.
• Develop operating policies, procedures, service levels and clear divisions of duties.
• Recruit, develop and manage the operations team, set performance standards and address processing weaknesses.
• Support operating budgets, capacity planning, cost management and board reporting.
• Coordinate operational input to licensing, audits and regulatory reviews, and oversee outsourced activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce or related field.
• Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, CFA or CIFA are an advantage.
• 5–8 years’ experience in investment banking, banking, capital markets or a regulated financial‑services environment.
• Practical experience with CMA and/or CBK regulatory frameworks.
• Strong understanding of financial‑services operations, controls, risk and governance.
• Proven experience managing teams, processes and operational improvement initiatives.
• Excellent analytical, organisational, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
