Orthopaedic Technician

About the role

We are seeking an Orthopaedic Technician to join our healthcare team in Westlands, Nairobi. The role involves supporting orthopaedic procedures, managing patient care, and maintaining equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in assessment and management of orthopaedic patients.
• Apply, adjust, and remove casts, splints, braces, traction equipment, and other orthopaedic appliances as directed.
• Support orthopaedic procedures and rehabilitation programmes.
• Prepare patients and equipment for orthopaedic treatments and procedures.
• Monitor patient progress and report concerns to the supervising medical team.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Ensure proper cleaning, handling, and maintenance of orthopaedic equipment and supplies.
• Educate patients on care and use of orthopaedic appliances and rehabilitation exercises.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide quality patient care.

Required profile

• Certificate in Orthopaedic Technology or related field from a recognized institution.
• Relevant experience in an orthopaedic or hospital setting (preferred).
• Good communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Professionalism, integrity, and commitment to quality healthcare service delivery.
