Part‑time Medical Officer – Outpatient Care

About the role

Penda Health is seeking a part‑time Medical Officer to join its multidisciplinary team at one of its medical centres in Kenya. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive, patient‑centered care in an outpatient setting while upholding the highest clinical and ethical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough medical evaluations, diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions, and prescribe appropriate therapies.
• Provide counseling, health education, and clear communication to patients and families with empathy and professionalism.
• Maintain accurate medical records, ensure confidentiality, and comply with legal and ethical standards.
• Participate in clinical audits, implement best practices, and engage in continuous medical education.
• Supervise, mentor, and support junior medical staff, fostering interdisciplinary learning and teamwork.

Required profile

• MBChB degree from a recognized medical school.
• Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board (KMPDB).
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an outpatient clinical setting.
• Strong clinical knowledge and diagnostic skills across a wide range of conditions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
