Part‑time Virology Peer Reviewer (PhD)

About the role

We are seeking experienced researchers with a PhD in virology or a related field to join our editorial team as remote, part‑time peer reviewers. This long‑term position involves evaluating manuscripts submitted to scientific journals and providing constructive feedback to authors.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the novelty and scientific contribution of each manuscript.
• Evaluate study design, methodology, and reproducibility.
• Check literature review for relevance and completeness.
• Analyse results and conclusions for clarity and validity.
• Provide clear, concise, and constructive feedback, highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and ethical considerations.
• Recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection to the journal editor.

Required profile

• Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent advanced degree in virology or a closely related discipline.
• At least five peer‑reviewed publications in SCI/SSCI journals within the past three years.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
• Commitment to confidentiality, objectivity, and ethical standards.
• Prior experience as a peer reviewer is highly desirable.
