About the role
The Pastry Chef will lead the Pastry Department of Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club, a luxury hotel set within the Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality desserts, pastries, breads and bakery items for the hotel’s restaurants, banquets and special events.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise daily production of all pastry and bakery items for restaurants, banquets and catered events.
- Ensure consistency, quality and timely service of all output.
- Control food costs and manage inventory.
- Maintain hygiene and safety standards in the pastry kitchen.
- Develop and mentor the pastry team.
- Innovate menu offerings to enhance guest satisfaction and uphold luxury standards.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading a pastry department in a high‑end hospitality environment.
- Strong leadership and team‑development abilities.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene and cost control.
- Creative mindset with a focus on guest experience.
