Patient Accounting Supervisor

About the role

The Patient Accounting Supervisor supports the Business Office by overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring revenue cycle compliance, and guiding staff to meet productivity goals. This full‑time, day‑shift position reports to the Department Manager and collaborates with senior financial leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor daily workload of patient accounting staff.
• Resolve complex billing and revenue issues that exceed staff capabilities.
• Assist the manager with hiring, orientation, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
• Ensure adherence to state, federal, HCFA, HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and third‑party payer regulations.
• Identify problem accounts, investigate root causes, and coordinate resolution with appropriate resources.
• Support process‑improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and infection‑control standards.

Required profile

• Full knowledge of Business Office functions and revenue processes.
• Ability to interpret and apply regulatory guidelines.
• Strong judgment and confidentiality in handling financial information.
• Experience supervising staff and managing workload distribution.

Required skills

• Understanding of HCFA, HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and third‑party payer requirements.
• Familiarity with state and federal healthcare regulations.
