People Operations Specialist

About the role

Beem is looking for a People Operations Specialist to support core HR functions and help build a people‑first workplace across its pan‑African operations. The role combines recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, HR projects and office facilities management in a fast‑paced, purpose‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support end‑to‑end recruitment: craft job descriptions, source candidates, screen, interview and coordinate onboarding.
• Manage orientation and onboarding programs to ensure new hires integrate smoothly and stay engaged.
• Design and run employee engagement initiatives and internal events that reinforce a positive culture.
• Oversee attendance tracking, resolve issues using biometric systems and generate related reports.
• Lead HR projects such as developing the company‑wide Employee Handbook and rolling out the Employee Value Proposition.
• Provide general HR operational support, improve processes and maintain accurate records and reports.
• Supervise day‑to‑day office and facilities operations, including supplies, equipment, vendor coordination and maintenance to keep the workplace functional and productive.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• Proven experience in a senior HR role; experience in technology or telecommunications is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices and African employment laws.
• Demonstrated experience in talent acquisition and talent management.
