Pharmaceutical Technologist

About the role

Penda Health is seeking a part‑time Pharmaceutical Technologist to join its Westlands clinic. The role is essential for delivering high‑quality pharmacy services and ensuring an excellent patient experience within a primary‑care setting.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process prescriptions, dispensing medications in line with Penda Health policies.
• Monitor drug storage conditions, record fridge and room temperatures, and track expiry dates.
• Maintain documentation for Dangerous Drugs Act (DDA) regulated medicines.
• Conduct monthly stock takes and manage inventory received from the central store.
• Collaborate with clinical officers to promote safe, economical, and rational drug use.
• Provide courteous service, exceeding patient expectations while preserving dignity.

Required profile

• Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.
• Registered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya and hold a valid practicing license.
• Minimum one year of experience, preferably in a busy hospital environment.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and as a collaborative team player.
