PhD Peer Reviewer – Cardiac & Cardiovascular Systems

About the role

This is a long‑term, stable part‑time position that allows you to work remotely as a peer reviewer for manuscripts focused on cardiac and cardiovascular systems. You will support the editorial process by providing expert, unbiased assessments of scientific papers.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the novelty of submitted manuscripts and determine their contribution to the field.
• Evaluate study design, methodology, and reproducibility.
• Verify that literature reviews are comprehensive and up‑to‑date.
• Analyse results and conclusions for clarity, accuracy, and significance.
• Provide constructive, detailed feedback to authors.
• Recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection to the journal editor.

Required profile

• Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant discipline.
• At least five peer‑reviewable papers published in SCI/SSCI journals within the last three years.
• Strong understanding of research methodologies and ethical standards.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
• Commitment to confidentiality and objectivity.
• Prior experience as a peer reviewer is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems.
