Pizza Chef

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Pizza Chef to join our kitchen team in Westlands, Nairobi. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of pizzas to our high standards while ensuring consistency and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook pizzas according to established recipes and standards.
• Manage dough preparation, fermentation, and portioning for consistent results.
• Use high-quality ingredients and ensure proper storage.
• Monitor cooking times and temperatures to achieve optimal taste and texture.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in line with food safety regulations.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during peak periods.
• Control inventory of pizza ingredients and assist with stock management.
• Minimize waste and support cost-control initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and sanitation standards.
• Contribute to menu development and new pizza offerings as needed.

Required profile

• Diploma in Culinary Arts or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience as a Pizza Chef, preferably in a hotel or high-end restaurant.
• Strong knowledge of pizza-making techniques, including hand-stretched, wood-fired and deck-oven methods.
• Proven ability to handle dough preparation and fermentation processes.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure.
