Pre-delivery Inspection Assistant

About the role

The Pre‑delivery Inspection Assistant supports the delivery team by performing thorough visual and functional checks on new vehicles before they reach customers. Working in the Simba Group’s automotive workshop in Westlands, Nairobi, you will ensure each vehicle meets OEM standards and internal quality guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct structured visual inspections of exterior, interior, underbody and engine bay following OEM procedures.
• Identify cosmetic defects such as scratches, dents, paint imperfections and missing accessories.
• Test all electrical components, including infotainment, advanced driver assistance systems, horn, lighting and battery performance.
• Verify fluid levels and install dealer‑fitted accessories (floor mats, number plates, mud flaps, etc.).
• Complete PDI sheets, record transit damage or manufacturer defects and coordinate corrective actions with the quality controller.
• Assist in diagnosing and resolving new‑vehicle electrical issues in the workshop.
• Support vehicle fueling, cleaning and detailing prior to delivery.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and perform any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Diploma in Automotive Engineering or related field (preferred) and a bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in the automotive industry.
• Computer literate and able to follow standard operating procedures.
