Procurement Manager – Mombasa (Tea Packaging)

About the role

The company is a private‑label tea packaging manufacturer seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead sourcing of packaging materials. You will work closely with production, quality, planning and finance teams to ensure timely, cost‑effective supply.

Key responsibilities

• Source and procure packaging materials from local and international markets.
• Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships, negotiate contracts and monitor performance.
• Track market trends, pricing movements and supply risks to optimise costs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align procurement with business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage inventory levels to avoid stock‑outs and excess stock.
• Prepare procurement reports, budgets, forecasts and cost‑saving initiatives.
• Coordinate import logistics, customs clearance and international supplier communications.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
• Professional certification such as CIPS, KISM, CPSP(K) is an advantage.
• Minimum 3‑4 years experience as a Procurement Manager or Senior Procurement Officer in manufacturing, FMCG, packaging or food processing.
• Proven experience in local and international sourcing of packaging materials.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Incoterms and import/export procedures.
• Supplier evaluation, contract negotiation and performance management.
