Procurement Officer

About the role

The Procurement Officer will lead sourcing activities, manage supplier relationships and ensure smooth purchase‑to‑pay processes for a manufacturing operation in Nairobi. This role supports inventory replenishment, compliance documentation and contract administration within a fast‑moving FMCG environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute competitive sourcing through RFQ and RFP processes.
• Coordinate evaluations, maintain sourcing documentation and assess supplier credit risk.
• Process purchase orders and manage end‑to‑end purchase‑to‑pay cycles.
• Onboard new suppliers and conduct due‑diligence checks.
• Analyze risks and approve or reject loan requests related to procurement.
• Administer contracts throughout their lifecycle.
• Support SEZ, customs and import/export compliance documentation.
• Assist with inventory replenishment, stock monitoring and supplier delivery coordination.
• Handle non‑conformance issues and generate supplier performance reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Active KISM membership with a valid practicing licence.
• At least 3 years of procurement experience in manufacturing or FMCG.
• Progress toward or completion of CIPS, APICS or similar professional qualification is a plus.
